Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of KuyaYos. They cover what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how the relationship between customers, tradespeople, and KuyaYos works. Plain English where we can manage it. Precise where we have to be.

Effective date: 23 May 2026. Last updated: 8 August 2026.

1. About KuyaYos

KuyaYos is a booking service operating in Metro Manila, Philippines. We connect customers with vetted, independent tradespeople: plumbers, electricians, aircon technicians, carpenters, and other skilled trades. We are not the employer of those tradespeople, and we do not perform the work ourselves. The tradesperson assigned to your booking is an independent contractor responsible for their own work.

Our role is to: vet tradespeople before they enter the network, match you with someone suitable for your job, facilitate the initial booking, and provide customer support if something goes wrong.

2. Eligibility

To use KuyaYos as a customer or apply as a tradesperson you must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter into binding agreements under Philippine law, and provide accurate information when you book or apply.

3. How a booking works

  1. You submit a booking via the form at kuyayos.ph/book or by messaging us on Messenger. You provide the details listed in our Privacy Policy.
  2. You pay the ₱500 service guarantee via GCash or direct bank transfer. Payment instructions are sent with your booking confirmation. This reserves your slot, covers sourcing and vetting your tradesperson, and backs the completed work with a 1-month warranty. Full terms are on the Cancellation & Payment Policy page.
  3. We match you with a vetted tradesperson based in or near your barangay, with experience in the relevant trade.
  4. The tradesperson visits the site, assesses the job in person, and confirms the final price with you on-site, within the range published for your service type on the pricing page.
  5. You accept the final price. The tradesperson does the work, and you pay them directly, in cash or via GCash, once the work is done. The ₱500 service guarantee is separate from the tradesperson's quote and is not deducted from it.

By submitting a booking you authorise us to share the booking details with the matched tradesperson so they can do the job.

4. Pricing, quotes and additional charges

Each quote is confirmed by the assigned tradesperson on-site, within the range published for your service type on the pricing page. The on-site price is based on what they find, the complexity of the work, and current industry rates. The published price ranges are commitments to stay within for that service type. They are not commitments to a specific number.

Service guarantee. A flat ₱500 service guarantee is charged upfront when you book. It is paid to KuyaYos via GCash or direct bank transfer, and it is the only amount KuyaYos charges you on a booking. It covers the booking, the sourcing and vetting of your tradesperson, their visit and on-site assessment, and the 1-month warranty described in section 6. It is separate from the tradesperson's quote and is not deducted from it.

The service guarantee is not a deposit. It is not held on your behalf and it is not credited against the price of the work. It is refunded where KuyaYos cannot source a tradesperson for your booking, and where you cancel before a tradesperson has been assigned to it. Once a tradesperson is assigned it is non-refundable, except in the cases listed in section 5 (your tradesperson cannot make it, dangerous site conditions, and force majeure). Full cancellation and refund rules are on the Cancellation & Payment Policy page.

Platform fee and commission. The ₱500 service guarantee is KuyaYos's platform fee. We charge no commission on the work itself: labor and materials are quoted on-site and paid by you directly to the tradesperson, who keeps 100% of that amount.

Hidden findings during work. Extra charges after work has begun are only allowed in one case: something hidden shows up during the work. For example, water damage behind a wall, or wiring worse than the photos showed. When that happens, the tradesperson must pause, explain the finding, and only continue once you approve the new price. If you do not approve, you only owe for work completed up to that point.

5. Cancellations and rescheduling

Summary below. The Cancellation & Payment Policy page has full terms.

  • Cancelling before a tradesperson is assigned. You receive a full refund of the ₱500 service guarantee. Assignment usually happens well before your scheduled date, so cancel as early as you can.
  • Cancelling after a tradesperson is assigned. The ₱500 service guarantee is non-refundable. By that point KuyaYos has sourced, vetted and committed a tradesperson to your job, and they have set aside the time for it.
  • If we cannot find you a tradesperson, you receive a full refund of the ₱500 service guarantee.
  • If you decline the on-site quote, the booking ends and the service guarantee is not refunded. The same applies if the tradesperson determines the job cannot be safely completed.
  • If your assigned tradesperson cancels or does not arrive, the choice is yours: we dispatch a replacement at no additional cost, or you take a full refund of the service guarantee.
  • Dangerous conditions. If your tradesperson finds the work site unsafe (extreme weather, structural hazards, exposed live wiring in water, conditions outside their professional competence), they may decline to proceed. You can reschedule with a different tradesperson or receive a full refund.
  • Force majeure. In the event of typhoons (PAGASA signal 2 or above), earthquakes, government-mandated lockdowns, or similar circumstances beyond either party's control, all cancellation fees are waived and any payments are refunded.
  • Refunds are processed within 3 business days to your original payment method.

6. Vetting, warranty, and what we do not guarantee

Every tradesperson in our network goes through a multi-step vetting process before they can accept bookings:

  • Valid NBI clearance and government-issued ID.
  • Review of trade background, certifications and references.
  • A direct conversation with the KuyaYos team.
  • Ongoing review based on customer feedback after each completed job.

Warranty. The ₱500 service guarantee includes a 1-month warranty on the scope of work completed, running from the day the job is finished. If work covered by that scope is not right, tell us within the warranty month and we will arrange a back job at no additional labor charge.

What the warranty does not cover. Work outside the agreed job order. Anything added or changed after the booking was confirmed. Faults arising from causes outside the tradesperson's work, including power surges, water intrusion, third-party alterations, normal wear, and misuse. Materials carry their manufacturer's warranty, not ours.

Damage. Where a tradesperson damages your property in the course of a booking, we take responsibility within reason. Provide photographs and a short account of what happened, and raise it with the team as set out in section 9.

Vetting reduces risk; it does not eliminate it. Beyond the warranty above, we do not guarantee specific work outcomes, timelines, or that every tradesperson's quote will be the lowest available. If standards aren't met, the tradesperson is removed from the network.

7. Customer obligations

  • Provide accurate information about the job and your location.
  • Make the site accessible at the agreed time. Building access, parking, water, and power as needed.
  • Pay your tradesperson the agreed quote upon satisfactory completion.
  • Treat the tradesperson with respect.

8. Tradesperson obligations

  • Carry the equipment, tools and certifications needed for the trade.
  • Provide an accurate quote before starting work, and follow the additional-charges rule in section 4.
  • Arrive at the scheduled time, or notify the customer as early as possible if delayed.
  • Perform the work to the standard expected of their trade and stated in the quote.
  • Source materials at fair market price; pass through receipts on request.
  • Treat customers with respect and maintain confidentiality.

9. Disputes and refunds

If something goes wrong with a job:

  1. Talk to your tradesperson first. Most issues are misunderstandings that resolve in one conversation.
  2. If that doesn't work, reach out to us via Messenger or Viber with your booking reference number (KYS-XXXX), a description of the issue, and photos if relevant. You can also email contact@kuyayos.ph.
  3. We review every dispute case by case and respond within 48 hours. Our role is to help reach a fair outcome between you and the tradesperson. We do not arbitrate as a court would.
  4. Refunds are processed within 3 business days to your original payment method, where work was paid for but not delivered, or where damage caused by the tradesperson's clear negligence is documented. Refunds related to material costs require itemised receipts.

10. Reviews and conduct

Customers may leave feedback after a completed job. Feedback is shared with the KuyaYos team and used in our ongoing tradesperson reviews. Tradespeople who fall below our standards are removed from the network. Customers who engage in harassment, fraud, or any other misconduct will also be removed.

11. Intellectual property

The KuyaYos name, wordmark, website design, copy and the orange-and-teal brand identity are owned by KuyaYos. You may not copy, modify or reuse them without written permission.

Photos and descriptions you submit as part of a booking remain yours. By submitting them, you grant KuyaYos a limited, non-exclusive licence to use them for delivering the booked service. This means sharing them with the assigned tradesperson, storing them for our records, and using anonymised images in our quality reviews. We will not use them in marketing without your explicit consent.

12. Liability

KuyaYos is a booking facilitator, not an insurer or guarantor of work quality. To the maximum extent permitted by Philippine law:

  • We are not liable for damages, delays or losses caused by independent tradespeople, except where we have been clearly negligent in our vetting or matching.
  • Tradespeople are responsible for their own work, conduct, materials and insurance (where applicable).
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount paid for that specific booking.

None of the above limits any rights you have under the Consumer Act of the Philippines (Republic Act No. 7394) or other mandatory Philippine consumer protection law.

13. Account suspension and termination

Either you or KuyaYos may end the relationship at any time. We may suspend or remove a customer or tradesperson without notice for fraud, harassment, repeated cancellations, breach of these terms, or any conduct that undermines trust in the network. Where a booking is in progress at the time of suspension, we will work to either complete it or refund what's owed.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of KuyaYos after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion or mediation as set out in section 9 will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quezon City, Metro Manila.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms: email contact@kuyayos.ph. For data privacy questions, see our Privacy Policy. For security disclosures, see /.well-known/security.txt.
