Cancellation & Payment Policy
How payment works on KuyaYos, what happens when you or your tradesperson needs to cancel, and how we handle disputes. Read alongside our Terms & Conditions and FAQ.
Effective date: 23 May 2026. Last updated: 8 August 2026.
How payment works
When you book through KuyaYos, a flat ₱500 service guarantee is charged upfront. It reserves your slot, covers finding and vetting your tradesperson, and backs the completed work with a 1-month warranty. It is the only amount you pay to KuyaYos: the work itself is paid directly to your tradesperson.
The service guarantee is not a deposit. It is not held on your behalf, and it is not deducted from the price of the work. It is refundable in the situations set out below, and not otherwise.
Payment methods
The ₱500 service guarantee is paid to KuyaYos via GCash or direct bank transfer. Payment instructions are sent with your booking confirmation. The work itself (labor and materials) is paid directly to your tradesperson, in cash or via GCash, once the work is done.
Pricing
Pricing ranges for each service category are published on our pricing page. When your tradesperson arrives, they assess the job and confirm the final price with you on-site, within the published range for your service type.
The service guarantee is separate from the price of the work.
- The ₱500 service guarantee goes to KuyaYos. It covers your booking, the matching, your tradesperson's visit, and the warranty below.
- The work itself (labor and materials) is quoted on-site and paid directly to your tradesperson. KuyaYos takes no commission from that amount.
What the service guarantee covers
- A vetted tradesperson. Everyone we dispatch is background checked, presents a valid government ID and NBI clearance, and has been assessed by the KuyaYos team before their first booking.
- Their visit and on-site assessment. Your tradesperson comes to you, inspects the job in person, and confirms the final price before any work starts.
- A 1-month warranty on the scope of work completed, starting the day the job is finished.
- A back job at no additional labor charge if the work covered by that scope is not right. Tell us within the warranty month and we will arrange the return visit.
The warranty covers the job that was actually done. It does not cover work outside the agreed job order, anything added after the booking was confirmed, or damage from causes beyond our control. Full terms are in section 6 of our Terms & Conditions.
When the service guarantee is refunded
Two situations put the ₱500 back in your hands:
- We cannot find you a tradesperson. If we are unable to match your booking, you get a full refund.
- You cancel before a tradesperson is assigned. Tell us before we have assigned someone to your booking and you get a full refund.
Once a tradesperson is assigned to your booking, the ₱500 service guarantee is non-refundable. At that point we have done the work you paid for: we have sourced, vetted, and committed a tradesperson to your job, and they have set aside the time for it.
Assignment usually happens well before your scheduled date, not on the day itself. If you need to cancel, tell us as early as you can. We will confirm whether a tradesperson has already been assigned.
Three situations further down this page also end in a refund, even after a tradesperson is assigned: if your tradesperson cannot make it, if the site turns out to be unsafe to work in, and under force majeure. Those are set out below.
If you decline the final quote
If the final price quoted on-site is acceptable to you, the work proceeds and you pay your tradesperson directly once it is done. If you decline to proceed at the quoted price, the booking ends and the service guarantee is not refunded. Your tradesperson was assigned, travelled to you, and assessed the job.
If your tradesperson cannot make it
If your assigned tradesperson cancels or does not arrive, the choice is yours: we dispatch a replacement at no additional cost, or you take a full refund of the ₱500 service guarantee.
Dangerous conditions
If your tradesperson finds the work site unsafe, they may decline to proceed. This includes extreme weather, structural hazards, exposed live wiring in water, or conditions outside their professional competence. You will be offered the option to reschedule with a different tradesperson or receive a full refund of the service guarantee.
Force majeure
In the event of typhoons (PAGASA signal 2 or above), earthquakes, government-mandated lockdowns, or similar circumstances beyond either party's control, all cancellation fees are waived and any payments are refunded.
Refunds
Refunds are processed within 3 business days to your original payment method.
Official receipts
A digital official receipt is available on request. Send us your email address via Messenger or Viber and allow up to 7 days.
